01/04/2022

Division 1
Hesketh Fleetwood retained their title with a 17-7 win over their nearest rivals Poulton !
Only a win was going to be sufficient to move them above Poulton and HF started extremely well as they won 5 ladies and 5 mens to end the levels with a virtually unassailable lead. 7 more games in the mixed meant they ran out comfortable winners. This was Fleetwood's 25th consecutive title, an astonishing achievement , but their first as Hesketh Fleetwood. Cath Bagley was the best player on the night by winning 7 games. Kelly Anderson and Nick Hodgson were Poulton's best players with 4 games each. Big congratulations to the team:- Caroline Andrew, Cath Bagley, Elizabeth Andrew, Tim Vickers, James Lester, Andy and Dave Wiseman.

Pilling had an easy home win when they entertained Lightning B. They dropped only 2 games which included 1 forfeited mixed game. Lightning make a quick return to Division 2 whilst Pilling finish well outside the bottom 2.

The final match in Division 1 this season saw Lightning A finish with a 23-1 home win over Kingfisher B whose only win was a mixed by Lynne Williams and Tim Chetwood. Lightning's Oliver Hives won 8 and conceded the fewest points. Lightning finish in their usual 4th place but Kingfisher will await to see if they drop back into Division 2.

Division 2
The match between Kirkham Charter B and Stanley B was virtually over after the levels when Kirkham took all 12 games. Stanley did manage to win 4 mixed games but it was too little too late. 4 players won 7 games with Carol Howarth and Harvey Slater having the best points scores for Kirkham. Stanley's Kathy Howard and partner Aaron Cheung did well in the mixed losing only 1 game on setting.

After failing to win a match in their first 10 matches, Lids won their 3rd match in succession to move well clear of bottom place. They overcame mid table Hesketh Fleetwood C 15-9, after getting off to a great start. They won all 6 ladies whilst the mens were all split to give them a 9-3 lead. Julie Bennett was the star as she won all 8 games. Phil Fyles replied with 6.

Levels
Champions Hesketh Fleetwood A thrashed bottom team Stanley by 15-1 to finish the season with a 100% record and well clear of second. Jake Meakin and Ross Adams with the solitary game whilst Ant Cross and Mike Percy both finished with the maximum 8.
