Division 2
2 unbeaten teams met for a top of the table clash with Hesketh Fleetwood B coming out on top against Stanley A by 15-9. The maximum 6 wins for the HF ladies provided a good foundation for the win, helped by 3 mens, as they led 9-3 going into the mixed. 3 wins from the first 2 sets meant they increased their lead. The next 2 sets were split to leave the score at 14-6. In the penultimate set , a great win by Stanley’s mixed pair of Kathy Howard and Lee Meakin gave them a deserved consolation bonus point. All the ladies from HF Katie Kinder, Nicola Percy and Sheena Carberry won 6. Lee was best player for Stanley with 5.

Hesketh Fleetwood did the double over Stanley this week and by the same score as their C team beat Stanley B. Their men’s 6 wins equalised Stanley’s 6 ladies wins to leave the match in the balance at 6-6. However, HF excelled in the mixed as they rattled off 7 of the next 8 games to forge ahead 13-7. Set 11 was split with both games ending 22-20 to earn Stanley a bonus point. Phil Fyles won all 8 for HF. Stanley’s ladies Kathy Howard, Claire Doherty and Karen Kenyon all won 5.
