WEEK 5 REPORT W/E 3RD DECEMBER

03/12/2021

Division 1
Poulton v Kingfisher A
An early contender for match of the season Poulton managed just 7 points more than Kingfisher and had the fortune of winning all 3 settings games to give them a very narrow 13-11 victory. Poulton’s ladies won 4 and their men 2 for a 6-6 score after the levels. In the next 4 sets of mixed Poulton won 7 games for a 13-7 advantage before Kingfisher won the last 4 games. Michelle Skinner won 7 for Poulton and Jared Holmes won 3 mens and 3 mixed for the unlucky visitors.

Lightning A v Pilling
A 24-0 win for Lightning A who look destined for mid table. None of the games went to settings in a routine win.

Division 2
Hesketh Fleetwood B travelled to Kirkham Charter B on Monday and justified their champions elect status with an easy win. They dropped 1 game in the levels and 1 more in the mixed for their 3rd consecutive 22-2 victory. Ian Chase was involved in both Kirkham’s successes but HF simply had the better players especially Katie Kinder and Nicky Percy who won all their games.

Project 12 continued their unbeaten start with victory over Stanley B. Their ladies won 4 and their men all 6 which was backed up by 10 wins in the mixed. Jon Jackson and Paul Whitehouse won the maximum 8 games. Stanley’s Kathy Howard had a great personal performance. She won 4 games and was involved in all of her teams victories.

Levels
Lightning’s strong line up proved too much for Stanley as they recorded a 16-0 victory. Most of the games were comfortable although 2 games were decided on setting and 3 other games were close.

Title favourites Hesketh Fleetwood had their second easy win of the season when they dismissed Lids 15-1 with only a James Leigh and Gregor Creelman win preventing the whitewash. Ant Cross and Richard Percival won 8 for HF.
