Week 17 Report W/E 25th January

Division 1
No matches

Division 2
In form Pilling B, in second place , hosted top placed Hesketh A who were not only unbeaten but had won all their previous matches! Pilling won by the surprising score of 18-6 possibly due to Hesketh not being at full strength. Jane Grey and Tim Shipway both won all their 4 levels and then together won their 4 mixed. Only Sheena Carberry managed 50% for the league leaders. Hesketh's lead cut to 4 points but with difficult games still to play against Kingfisher B and Lids B and with Pilling having 4 easier matches left the title is far from certain!

Two teams also in the mix for promotion met on Wednesday and it was the visitors Kingfisher B who came away victorious with a 15-9 win against rivals Lids B. Despite winning 4 mens Lids were undone by Kingfisher's women who won all 6 and with some good results in the mixed Kingfisher ran out winners and leapfrog Lids into 3rd only 1 point behind Pilling. Lids at least get a bonus point to stay in contention but must now be considered outsiders for promotion. Sarah Woodhouse was POTM for a great performance in winning all 8 whilst Dan Cooper played well and managed to win 3 mens and 3 mixed.

Division 3
Kingfisher C conceded their home match against Stanley B. This will almost certainly mean they will finish in the bottom 2 whilst moving Stanley away from the bottom.

Kirkham Charter A had a straightforward 18-6 win in their match versus Ribby Hall B. Ribby managed to win 3 ladies but only 1 mens and 2 split mixed. The 3 points for Kirkham mean they jump back into second 2 points ahead of Ribby's A team but having played 1 game more. Ribby B remain comfortable in mid table. Katie Kinder, Ian Chase and Dave Mackay all lost just 1 game for Kirkham and Melanie Bunney replied with 4 for Ribby.

Project 12 jump into top slot with an easy win against Stanley by 15-1. Jon Jackson and Rob Monks were never really troubled in winning all their 8 games. Only Jake Meakin and Steve Whyatt had a consolation win.

Fleetwood had a comfortable night in their home match against Albany winning 12-4. Mr Consistent Ant Cross again won all his 8 games. Steve Tivey won half his games for Albany.
