At the Half-way Point the title race is on (continued)

In the Levels League it looks like it will go down to the wire.

Lids currently sit at the top of the table closely followed by Lighting Levels A. If Lids can maintain their lead this would be their first levels trophy. Their only blip came when wunderkind (Andrew Hardaker) didn't play and they drew a match.

Lightning A are current title holders and will be battling to regain that trophy for another year. Suffering one loss against Hesketh Fleetwood Levels and a draw to Lids, Lightning will need to try and get those wins in the bag for the second half of the season to remain in the running for Gold Medal position.

Its fantastic to see quite a few teenage players in this league. Friends Matthew and Jacob Bagley are 50% of the Lightning B team and continually improve to develop their match practice, with an average height between them of 6ft 3 its great to watch how their height and strength combined really benefit their game.

Current strongest players at the half way stage are Andrew Hardaker (Lids) and Manoj Manandhar (HF). Again, like the other leagues it is crucial for all teams to field their strongest players to achieve the best possible league position at the end of the season.

Finally I just want to add thanks to the Committee for all their continued hard work.

I wish all teams the best of luck for the second half of the season and look forward to seeing many of you at our First Blackpool League Christmas do in a very long time.

I hope you and your families have a wonderful time over the festive period and enjoy a well deserved break.

Thanks,

Serena Hindle.
