DIVISION 1
Poulton, runners up for the last 2 seasons, lost a tough encounter at Lightning A 15-9. Although unable to field their strongest team, Poulton's ladies still won 5 as did Lightning's men to leave the match poised at 6 games each after the levels. In the mixed, Lightning forged ahead by winning 7 of the next 8 games to win the match. Oliver Hives won all 8 games whilst Nikki Wilford was Poulton's best player with 5.
DIVISION 2
There was an exciting game on Monday when Kirkham Charter B hosted Project 12.
In the ladies levels Kirkham won 5 and although Project's men pulled back 4 games, Kirkham still took a 7-5 lead into the mixed. Both sides then won a set apiece which was quickly followed by 2 split sets meaning Kirkham had maintained their slender lead at 11-9. The penultimate set was won by Project's Kat Platt and Jon Jackson to tie the match at 11 all. In the final set, where all 3 results were still possible, Sarah Jackson and John Wright won comfortably to give the visitors their first win of the season. Anita Driscoll won 6 for Kirkham but Jon Jackson was the POTM as he won 3 mens and 4 mixed.
LEVELS
Lightning B gained a first and much needed win of the season at the expense of fellow strugglers Bloomfield B. The 3 points takes them off the foot of the table. They were much too strong as they only dropped 2 games all night with new recruit Jon Jackson taking all 8 games. Phil Hough was involved in both Bloomfield's wins.
Lids A looked like they were going to bagel Kirkham Charter after winning the first 12 games. Only a Hollie Mackay and Jonathan Baker game in the penultimate set prevented the whitewash. James Leigh and Greg Littler won 8 for Lids. The defeat leaves Kirkham at the bottom of the table.
Defending champions Hesketh Fleetwood A overcame Bloomfield A in another convincing win by 15-1, although Bloomfield had to concede 3 games due to an injury to James Atherton. Ben Yau and Minoj Manandhar won all 8 games with Richard Pascucci and Jordan Taylor-Millington winning Bloomfield's only game. HF with 3 big wins so far, chasing Lightning A in what looks to be a 2 horse race for the title.
