WEEK 4 REPORT W/E 26TH NOVEMBER

23/11/2021

Division 1
As expected Kingfisher B were heavily beaten by champions Hesketh Fleetwood 22-2. However that doesn't tell the full story! HF led by 18-0 before a mixed split in set 10 put Kingfisher on the scorecard. It was set 11 though that had all the drama as youngsters Rebecca Dewhurst and Callum Grayson won the first game 30-29 against league legends Caroline Andrew and Tim Vickers !! The second game also went to setting with the experienced duo just coming through 23-21. Over 100 points were played in one the games of the season! Cath Bagley and James Lester won the most games with 8 but Rebecca and Callum were my choice for players of the match!

Newly promoted Lightning B were staring at a whitewash after they were battered in the levels 12-0. However, a split in the 8th set from Karen Pye and Graham Cooper was soon followed by a very surprising split from Kathryn Oakes and Robert Cockerill to give the home team some relief! Michelle Skinner and Nick Hodgson easily won their 8 games.

Division 2
Hesketh Fleetwood B look like potential champions after a decisive 22-2 win over Lids. Only Julie Bennett and Mark Green. with 2 split mixed, managed to win games for a Lids team who find themselves in the bottom half of the table. Sheena Carberry and mixed partner Richard Percival were the best players on the night after winning all their 8 games.

Stanley A maintained their winning start by overcoming Kirkham Charter A 16-8. Their ladies won 3 and their men 5 which was matched by their 8 mixed. All 3 of Stanley's men Steve Canavan, Reehan Khan and Steve Whyatt won 6 but the POTM honours go to Amelia Parker who won 6 of her teams 8 games!

Hesketh Fleetwood C were much too strong for Kirkham Charter B winning 10 levels and 11 mixed. Derek Hill and Phil Fyles won 8 games for the victors whilst Carol Howarth and Emma Nickson won 2 ladies.
