Week 3 Report W/E 27th September

Division 1
Newly promoted Kingfisher B managed to get a bonus point in a hard fought 14-10 defeat against Pilling. They were 8-4 down after the levels with their ladies winning the 4 games. The mixed ended at 6 games each mainly thanks to Sarah Woodhouse and James De Wolf who won all 4. Sarah finished the match with 7 games, however all Pilling’s men, Andy Davis, Michael Banks and Steve Beniston won 6.

Hesketh struggled to compete against Kingfisher A and although 4 games went to settings the final score was 22-2. Katie Kinder was involved in both Hesketh’s wins whilst Alex Mackie was statistically the best player on the night.

Division 2
Project 12 just managed to get over the line in a narrow 13-11 victory against Albany B. They found themselves 7-5 down after the levels but were more convincing in the mixed which they managed to win 8-4. Kat Platt and Nicky Carr won 6 for the winners and Paul Cross also managed 6 for the losers.

Division 3
Stanley A look set for a quick return to division 2 with their second big win of the season, this time winning 20-4 against Ribby Hall B. Whilst their ladies were held 3-3, the men’s and the mixed ended 6-0 and 11-1. Both Melissa Jones and Gillian Wormsley won a creditable 3 games for Ribby but it was Steve Canavan and Steve Wyatt who won all 8 to give Stanley a convincing win.

Levels
Stanley comfortably beat newcomers Broughton 13-3 thanks mainly to Robert Lee and Neil Pemberton who won 7 each. Broughton’s best players on the night were Swati Sonwalker and James Townson who won 2 games each.

Warton C were a player down and so conceded 8 games in a 15-1 defeat to their own B team. Kevin Youles and Harrison Uppard won all 8 games with only Gregor Creelman and Graham Roebuck managing to get on the scoresheet for the C.

A close match was anticipated when Fleetwood hosted Project 12. However, despite some close games which could have gone either way, Fleetwood ran out 12-4 winners.
Ant Cross the POTM again for winning all 8 games with only Jon Jackson for P12 managing to win half his games.
