Division 1
Bottom team Albany B were always going to struggle against Pilling A even with a full team but with a lady short their task became impossible. Of the 16 games actually played Pilling won 14 with both Andy Davis and Steve Beniston winning all their 6. Karen Pye and Paul Cross won a great mixed set to give Albany their only 2 games.
In the match Lids A v Kingfisher A the home team had high hopes of a shock win as they led 8-4 after the levels thanks mainly to their men who won 5. However Kingfisher proved their strength in the mixed and they won the first 6 games to lead 10-8. Lids knew their chance had gone and the match ended 14-10 to Kingfisher who jump back into second place. All the men from Lids - Sam Ames, Will Booth and Dan Cooper won 4 but Jess Logue the POTM with 6 games for the winners.
Once again Fleetwood A were too strong for Poulton and ran out winners by 15-9. Poulton Ladies won 4 and Fleetwood men won 5 to give the champions a narrow 7-5 lead. In the mixed there were many close games but Fleetwood pulled ahead winning 8 of the 12 games for an overall victory by 15-9. Fleetwood nearly at the finishing line and Poulton's bonus point keep them in contention for second. All Fleetwood's men - Tim Vickers and Dave and Andy Wiseman won 6 and Nikki Wilford top scorer again for Poulton with 5.
Division 2
Mid table Stanley A were too strong and won comfortably 20-4 against Lids C who despite their bottom position fought very hard with most games being competitive. The home team won 11 levels and 3 mixed sets were split. Lynsey Rees and mixed partner Lee Meakin won 8 and Ceri Smith-Jaynes and Nan Pilkington were Lids best scorers winning 2 games each.
Project 12 entertained Fleetwood B in a very close match. The hosts won 5 ladies but Fleetwood's men won all 6 to give them a slender lead of 7-5. Project won the first mixed set and Fleetwood quickly replied by winning the next set to maintain their lead 9-7. The next 3 sets were all split leaving Fleetwood 12-10 up. In the last set, Project won the first game but Fleetwood's Sue McAusland and Ant Cross held their nerve to win the second game 21-15 for a crucial match win 13-11. Fittingly, Ant was Fleetwood's top scorer with 7 and Projects Kat Platt with a great effort won 7 also. Second bottom Fleetwood now only 3 points behind Project with both teams having 3 tough matches and 1 easier game left !
Division 3
Ribby Hall A came away with an expected 20-4 win to struggling Kingfisher C. Carol Howarth was the only player to win all their games and Harry Haywood was involved in all the 4 games that Kingfisher won - A great effort ! With 3 games to go Ribby move up to second 1 point ahead of Kirkham Charter but with 2 tough fixtures remaining including playing the league leaders and a crunch match versus Kirkham!
Levels
There was only 1 close game as Warton A beat their B team 16-0 in a match described as a thrashing ! Adrian Speakman was statistically the best player by 1 point.
