Pilling B defeated Stanley A 16-8 thanks mainly to their ladies who won all 6. The men’s and mixed were much more even at 3-3 and 6-6. A mixed win at the end by Lee Meakin and Lynsey Rees meant Stanley reached 8 games and gained another vital bonus point, their 6th from 7 matches this season! which keeps them just above the relegation places. For Pilling this was their 4th straight win and keeps them in contention for promotion. Jane Grey was the POTM with all 8 games and Lee had a great match winning 3 men’s and 3 mixed for his 6.
Comeback of the season belongs to Project 12 after pulling off an astonishing 14-10 away win to one of their rivals Lids B. They were 8-4 down after the levels and then lost the next 2 games to go 10-4 down with Lids on cruise control! Project then found a new gear, showing grit and determination, to win the last 10 games to stun Lids and complete an amazing comeback! Congratulations to Sarah Coultas who was the star player on the night winning 6. Commiserations to Steph Tsang and Dan Cooper who both won 5 for Lids. The 3 points for Project keeps them in touch with all the other teams in 2nd spot.
Lids C look doomed after a 20-4 defeat to their relegation rivals Fleetwood B who just keep themselves in touch with Stanley A. Derek Hill won all 8 and Maureen Turner was involved in 3 of the wins for Lids.
Hesketh A stretched their winning streak to 7 with a hard fought win 14-10 over Kingfisher B. This was mainly due to their ladies winning 5-1 to establish a 4 game cushion which they maintained to the end as the men’s and mixed were tied at 3-3 and 6-6 respectively. Sheena Carberry was POTM with 7 for Hesketh and James De Wolf’s great effort won 6 for Kingfisher. This win means Hesketh increased their lead at the top to 6 points whilst Kingfisher have the consolation of a bonus point to keep them in the mix for 2nd place with Pilling B and Lids B on 15 points and Project 12 only 1 point behind on 14 !
Division 3
Kirkham Charter A moved into second place with a 20-4 win over struggling Kingfisher C. H.Mackay won 7 and had the best points score on the night.

For the first time ever in the history of the Blackpool league an all ladies team from Albany played an all men’s team from Warton B !! Not certain but this could possibly be a first in all the Lancashire leagues as well ! Perhaps in a state of shock, Warton managed to lose the first 6 games !! They staged a mini revival but the match ended in a 10-6 win to the ladies. Natalie won 7 games . For the record books Albany’s team was Natalie Appleyard, Sian Meakin, Jenny Stothard and Serena Hindle.
At the mid point of the match between Stanley and Fleetwood the visitors found themselves 5-3 ahead. However Stanley then won the next 6 to ensure victory. Gareth Jones with a match winning 7 and Derek Hill picked up 5 games for Fleetwood.
Warton A gained revenge for their only defeat of the season with a decisive 11-5 win over Project 12. Warton started well winning 5 of the first 6 games and Project were never able to close the gap. Nathan Bunting,Jeremy Cara and Jenish Prajapati won 6 on the night whilst only Jon Jackson managed to win half his games.
