Division 1
It was 2nd v 1st when Kingfisher A entertained Fleetwood A and it was the visitors who not only maintained their winning run but extended their lead at the top to 4 points with a 15-9 win. It was the ladies that proved decisive as they ended 6-0 in Fleetwood's favour whilst the men's and mixed were more competitive ending 3-3 and 6-6 respectively. In the final games Jess Logue and Jonathan Mosley won a pair of mixed to give Kingfisher a vital point. Caroline Andrew was the star player winning 7 for the champions and Jonathan won 5 for Kingfisher.
Poulton Le Fylde moved up to joint second with a comfortable 21-3 home win over bottom team Albany B. Nikki Wilford and Harry Townsend won all their 8 games and Clare Thompson and newcomer Adrian Speakman split both their mixed games to win 2 on the night for Albany.
Division 2
Pilling B put themselves back in contention with their 3rd successive win, this time over Project 12. Pilling's ladies won all 6 comfortably and with the men's all being split, the score reached 9-3. Pilling maintained the pressure in the mixed to deny their rivals a point and ran out winners 18-6. Sarah Rayner and Elizabeth Harrison won 8 and Projects Jon Jackson won 4.
League leaders Hesketh A had a scare in their away match to Stanley A. The ladies went Hesketh's way 4-2 but this was matched by Stanley's men who also won 4-2 to make it all square at 6 games each. In the mixed Hesketh's Nicky Johnson and Dominic McVittie won the first pair which was followed by a split before Lynsey Rees and Lee Meakin from Stanley won both games to tie the score at 9-9 each! 2 more split games followed to reach 11 games each before Sheena Carberry and Rick Percival won the last 2 games for Hesketh for a 13-11 victory ! Nicky won 7 for Hesketh and Steve “Consistent” Canavan won 5 for the unlucky losers.
Promotion chasing Lids B beat struggling Fleetwood B 18-6 to move into second place in a match involving lots of close games including a 30-28 men's levels! Lids took a strong 9-3 advantage into the mixed which also ended 9-3. Super Steph Tsang and Dynamite Dan Cooper proving their value winning 7 games each - Linda Adams and Ant Cross replied with 3.
Division 3
At the bottom of the table, an important win by Ribby Hall B over Kirkham Charter B 16-8 which has lifted them out of the bottom 2. Kirkham again showed their fighting qualities when they managed to split the final games to earn themselves a point. Melanie Bunney was top scorer with 7 games for Ribby and John Barker with an encouraging 5 games for Kirkham. Thanks Penny.
Unbeaten Hesketh B beat promotion rivals Ribby Hall A 16-8 helped by Steve Blackburn and Andy Manson winning 7. Emma Nickson won 5 for Ribby including the last mixed with Graham Bielby to get a bonus point for Ribby.
Levels
Surely there is only one outcome when there is a bottom v top clash ? Not so as Fleetwood had a much needed win 10-6 against high fliers Project 12 with Derek Hill and Ant Cross winning 6 and Jon Jackson replying with 5.
