Division 1 No matches Week 2 but will resume Week 3
Division 2
Game of the week saw local rivals Kingfisher and Pilling draw 12-12 after a see-saw match which had 5 games go to settings-4 won by Kingfisher!
5 of the levels were split with the only decisive tie ending in a win for the Pilling men to give them a narrow 5-7 lead. In the mixed,Pilling won 3 of the next 4 to lead 6-10 but Kingfisher came back and took the next 6 games for a 12-10 advantage.Pilling’s Tim Shipway and partner Jane Grey won the last 2 games for a fantastic 12-12 result.Best player was Tim for winning 7 whilst Lynne Williams won 5 for the home team.
There were lots of close games especially in the levels when Lids B met their C team.The B gained a narrow advantage of 7-5 by winning all the mens whilst the C won 5 ladies. The B pushed on in the mixed to win overall by 18-6.Simon Tebbutt and James Leigh won their 8 games and Emma Dean a commendable 5 games for the C.
Fleetwood had 4 players who won 6 in their 16-8 win over Stanley.Linda Adams was the best statistically.The away team had 4 players who won
3 with Reehan Khan having the best score.
Last season Hesketh, relegated from Division 1,met Project 12,promoted from Division 3. The result was an inevitable 17-7 to the home team.Despite just missing out on a bonus point Project 12 fought to the end winning the last 4 games.Nicky Johnson with all 8 and Mark Pickles with 4 for the losing team.
Division 3
Kirkham A returned to their newly refurbished hall for the first time this season but that couldn’t inspire them to victory in a keenly contested match against Hesketh B in very white and bright surroundings!
Andy Manson for the visitors won all 8 matches with his powerful smash proving too hot to handle.Kirkham’s Emma Gilfoyle and Ian Chase won 6 but it wasn’t enough as Hesketh won 15 9.
Stanley beat a 5 sided Ribby B 19-5. Gareth Jones won 5/6 for the home team and John Wright 4 for Ribby.
Ribby Hall A beat struggling Kingfisher 23-1.
Levels League
A 8-8 draw was the result between Albany and Stanley.Jake Meakin won 6 for the away team but Lee Williams had a fantastic game winning all 8.
Project 12 beat Fleetwood 10-6 Jonathan Jackson with 7 and Ant Cross 5 for Fleetwood.
Warton A won 11-5 against their B team.Nathan Bunting winning 7 whilst Jenish Prajapati won 4.
